Loc Yen – Vietnamese Ancient Village in Lush Countryside.

There is an ancient village that looks like a fairy tale, which is famous for its tranquility and stillness, with narrow and winding roads, green rice fields, and ancient houses.

On the way to Loc Yen village, the first stop we will visit a local Coffee Roasted Place to have traditional coffee and learn more about Vietnamese coffee and culture.

After arriving, you will be biking around the village. You will have moments of peace and tranquility whilst cycling around the ancient village, between the green roads and green terraced fields.

We will have lunch and have a chance to swim in the river stream next to the local restaurant.

In the afternoon continue your journey to Tam Thanh Village, where a mural project has transformed this remote fishing village into a fascinating artwork gallery, where more than 100 houses have been painted to reflect the local culture, people, and nature.

Loc Yen ancient village, which is located about 40 km from Hoi An Ancient Town to the Southwest. In 2019, the village was recognized as a national relic and one of the four most beautiful ancient villages in Vietnam.

The village was established and developed in the 15th and 16th centuries and was formed with wooden houses, stone alleys, and beautiful fruit gardens.

The combination between the old houses, stone alleys, green gardens, rice fields, and the small slithering path creates a familiar, warm, and gentle feeling for everyone who first visits the village. The ingenuity and sophistication in the layout of the population of old houses make Loc Yen as beautiful and poetic as a charming picture.

Here, you can see ancient houses and learn about their unique cultural, historical, and architectural values; meet the owners, who will be more than happy to tell you their stories; and last but not least, relish the charming rural gardens.

According to Loc Yen villagers, community-based tourism can both increase the strengths of the garden economy and create jobs for local people through experience tourism models, homestay services, and OCOP products.

Start the tour with a tasty cocktail made with local ingredients at a hidden bar at the central market and taste delicious grilled BBQ sticks.

Visit a family with generations making the famous Hoi An dishes – White Rose dumplings. We also eat like locals at the other local street food counters, trying local popular Banh Can Fried rice cakes, Banh Mi, Chicken Rice, and Cao Lau Hoi An special noodle.

The tour finishes with local herbal tea and old town to admire the peaceful old town and majestic lanterns of Hoi An, then leave with a flower lantern on the river with your secret wish.

Each secret spot takes you on a journey through the old town and outskirts, weaving in and out the tiny alleyways you’ll get to chow down with the locals at stalls you’d never discover on your
own.
